Please remember this site has NEVER had a shopping cart and has never been well organized. This website is down home with plenty of my pictures. FFL transfers are still $15. With low overhead, my FFL does not need to generate the big bucks to operate like the big stores. My FFL is not my only source of income.

Our favorite customers are polite, nice honest people. Military/fire, law enforcement and ATF agents, out of state customers with big money and big collections. Pay in cash or bank check. If an emergency came up where I had go leave the shop, 99.9% of Ozark Guns loyal local customers I would trust to hold down the fort with gun safes and cash safes unlocked. (Remember we work for the ATF. The ATF is our boss. They can shut us down. If they want 100% correct paperwork, we are expected to deliver 100% correct paperwork. Please take your time filling out the mandatory 4473 form. It HAS to be 100% on your end and on ours. One empty box or something left off means we get a citation. We want to keep $15 transfers rolling. We have the best customers!)

Least favorite: people we don't know, have no cash and no permit, who think they "Have A Right" to see the inside of my bank vaults. Hit the road. No showroom here. We only sell new, current models. There are no old super rare, needle in the haystack firearms at Ozark. Note: If we sold used firearms we would be less critical of the just looking crowd. That said, my business is in Gaston County, NC. The economy is lousy, meth heads and crack addicts run the streets. These nut jobs are stealing manhole covers to sell as scrap steel.

If you are out of state Visa or MasterCard is fine. Being a merchant I get hit for 2.5%-3.5% for cc's. Just a cost of doing business out of state. We have never charged extra for credit cards.

That said, our favorite out of state customers send us certified bank checks. They do it out of kindness. It does not save them any money, but they know it saves us the cc fees to keep our overhead super low. Thank You!

My 2 cents at Ozark Guns: Sig Sauer has always had that superior fit and finish you can feel as soon as you grip one. Sure a Glock will get the job done, but the Sig seems to ooze QUALITY. Quality firearms cost more. In the long run when you buy the best you will have less buyers remorse. Firearms tend to stay in families and get passed down to future generations. Firearm prices only go one way.....North. (New Sig coming soon)

Colt 01911ANVIII NEW MODEL $Xxxx ~~12 8 4~~ Sold Out White Box Collector - Love the classic rollmarks- series 70 internals....Update: After looking at the fit and finish, I added this model to my personal DEALER DEMO collection. If you can find a gun store with this model you need to look at it in person. This is by far the best 1911 Colt reproduction they have ever made. I fired 14 rounds out of mine. From 185 grain to 230 grain, wad, hollow point and ball. Zero malfunctions. Group was very tight. Marked "United States Property." My guess is that Colt is using new machinery to build this model. The tolerances are tighter and the steel is better than the one they built 100 years ago. Fantastic gift to keep in your family. I carry my Colt 01911ANVIII in a Bianchi Pro 100 leather holster. Hot News: Marines Pick Colt for New Pistol -

"It was performance based. . . . "There were three candidates that made the final round of consideration," but Clark would not discuss the competitors.

In addition to Colt, Springfield Armory's Full Size MC Operator and Smith & Wesson's 1911 design were also contenders, sources tell Military.com.

Marine testers placed a high priority on accuracy. The winner had to be capable of putting five-shot groups on target that "didn't exceed four inches by four inches at 25 yards" from an unsupported firing position, Clark said. Personally, I would have bought a minimum of 10 samples of each model 1911 from 10 different distributors. I would use a Ransom Rest http://www.ransomrest.com for the initial test. Only then would I continue testing the best the way the article says. And the part about magazine life?! Most gun makers have a magazine company make mags for them and have them stamp the gun maker's company on the bottom. The Marines have an awesome shooting team in Quantico, Virginia. I hope they had an input on how to test a 1911. Maybe it was just a poorly written article by a non-shooter.

Dan Wesson is a fantastic firearm company. Owned by CZ. They fall in the production category HOWEVER if you look closely many parts are hand fitted. At $1599 you are getting more than you are paying for. Ozark Guns: love the flat top slide. Adds class. Very tight fitting 1911. If you don't know Dan Wesson, do your homework. Question often asked: how does Colt stack up with Dan Wesson. First of all Dan Wesson costs more. When Dan Wesson first offered 1911's they were grossly UNDERPRICED. They make less pistols and they have more hand fitting. Anytime labor time goes up, so does the price of the 1911. The 1911 design is a very complex pistol. Lots of parts. Everything has to function as a team. One bad part will cause problems.

Both Colt and Dan Wesson are firearms you can be proud to own and pass down to friends and family. I own both. You are buying an appreciating investment that could save your life. Win-Win.

Buying Tip: There are plenty of polymer pistols on the market. Some are very simple and very reliable. They make for good self defense guns and LE guns. Don't get sucked into the thinking if brand A is good than brand B is bad. You see tons of this type thinking on the net. In reality, both guns will get the job done. I own lightweight polymer pistols. (Steyr is my favorite.) They work fine and prices are more affordable than a quality/custom built 1911. Polymer is easy to work with and far more inexpensive than Scandium, or aircraft grade alloy.
