Kimber Classic Pistols have established a new world standard for production 1911 accuracy and dependability. This was no accident. They are manufactured on the most technically advanced machinery using only the finest materials. The average tolerance of a Kimber is three times as tight as the competition - giving Kimber the edge in performance. Dozens of custom and match grade features make Kimber pistols the best value. No where is this more evident than the Custom.

Barrels are just one example of Kimber quality. Each pistol has a match grade barrel machined from a forging. We are the only company using both cut and button broaching in the rifling process. A cut broach first establishes the proper groove diameter and rifling depth, then a button broach enhances consistency and quality. This process also has a burnishing effect for the extremely smooth interior surface finish needed for top accuracy.

Chambers are cut to match grade, then polished. After heat treating, the barrel's outer surface is given a final machining operation to ensure it is perfectly straight. Finished barrels are air gauged to verify consistency within one thousandth (.001) inch. Barrel bushings, which lock the barrel in position, are machined from stainless steel blanks. They are finished perfectly round and provide the consistent full ring contact needed for match accuracy. Their contact tolerance is just one half of one thousandth (.0005) inch.

Every Custom has a host of practical features that elevate performance to the level of custom pistols. Beveled slide serrations, polished breech face, match grade trigger group, Commander(tm)-style hammer, extended ejector, tactical extractor, rounded and blended edges, oversized firing pin stop, beveled magazine well and high ride beavertail grip safety are all standard. When you buy a Kimber you are buying the finest 1911 pistol ever manufactured. Why settle for less?
